March 13, 2011: Stampin' 411 #194

Pin It Now!
I always feel like such a layabed on Daylight Savings Time! It's my day off and I usually sleep in a bit, but not till EIGHT IN THE MORNING!! I know my body thinks it's still 7AM, but still...

I went to my upline's Stamper's 10 yesterday, and I always like to bring a card for the hostess. Mom and Emily Post (two women I look up to!) always say you should, so I always do. :) When I saw Stampin 411's Sketch #194 I thought it would be perfect. My only criteria is I wanted spring!

I debated several stamp sets such as Nature Walk, Punch Bunch and Lovely as a Tree...then I saw my oft neglected Flower for All Seasons. I love this set, which I actually won as a door prize a while back. It's such a cute set. Recently my mother-in-law, who is very into country themed stampes earned a free SAB item and asked me to surprise her; this set was an easy choice!

Of the four stamps that comes in the set, I chose to not use the poinsettia/cardinal one...I didn't want too much red and I thought it would oppose the spring look I was going for.

I tried to do a "pop" on each tile - just something a little extra special. The purple daisies are dotted with rhinestones, the blue bird is glossed with Crystal Effects and the ladybug is my one pop of red.

The colors I chose are Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink and Handsome Hunter (retired). All the markers are current SU except for the frog (retired Mellow Moss) and the sunflower yellow (non SU). I haven't bought a More Mustard marker yet. :)

The sentiment is from the level 1 Hostess Set Because I Care. I love the set, but this is by far the most versatile stamp in it! I've used it so much already. :)
