September 9, 2010: Mini Christmas Tree

Pin It Now! I wanted to share this mini Christmas tree I made a while back. Isn't it cute?? It's origami folds using four graduating sizes of paper.

When I was younger, my maternal uncle Craig was stationed in Japan with his extremely artistic wife Peg. For Christmas and birthdays, she would send me amazingly beautiful origami papers and instructional books. Fortunately, I still know how to do some of the folds. :)

July 13, 2010: Christmas in July

Pin It Now! OK, more like LAST Christmas in July. :)

I thought these origami trees were so much fun when I saw them on a youtube video that I had to give them a go. I used assorted Christmas paper scraps, printed the "Peace on Earth" sentiment on the computer and topped the tree with stars diecut with the original Sizzix stars die.

I love how complicated the tree layers look, although they are actually fairly simple.
