This is a picture of our local pheasant. We technically live in town, but our property backs up to a row of ranchettes (super important for me, since I get to see the local horses playing while I do my homework. :) ). We seem to have a lot of quail that run around, and this brightly colored pheasant. He usually stays in the field behind our house but on this day I caught him on the fence, talking to me as I snapped his picture.
