September 24, 2011: Class Day!!

Pin It Now! So for today I have a VERY special card to show you. The last demo-only swap I was in was run in conjunction with a stamp camp by Sharon Skelton. Unlike most swaps this one is a contest by votes. Sharon always says the judging criteria is what you would most want to make with your customers at your next event if you already had the supplies.

Every single time, my upline Heather wins. And why not? Her color combinations are gorgeous and her composition is always so striking. For this swap, this was her winning card. And y'all know it went straight to my display board!

For this card Heather used a base of Very Vanilla topped with a Perfect Plum (my favorite color!) panel clipped on one end with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. After stamping it all over with leaves from Gently Falling in Perfect Plum Classic Ink, she scored it every 1/2" with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool - both new in the Holiday Mini Catalog. Scoring lines adds just the right amount of texture and interest where a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder might have been too busy.

The lace is from the Lace Ribbon Border Punch in More Mustard, and the central panel is Very Vanilla matted on top of Bravo Burgundy. Heather used Gently Falling again with the outlines in Perfect Plum and the shading with Bravo Burgundy and More Mustard. The focal image is the new Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in Very Vanilla Sponged with Perfect Plum. Heather said she cut it out freehand (clearly she has steadier hands than I!) but you can also die cut it with the Originals Ovals Die (just die cut it first, then emboss) with the Big Shot. The center (love how it fits perfectly!) is the Wide Oval Punch in Bravo Burgundy stamped with Creative Elements in Bravo Burgundy and sentiment from Elements of Style in Perfect Plum. The butterfly is from Beautiful Wings Embosslit in More Mustard topped with a Basic Pearl.

Heather finished her card with a scrap of Victoria Crochet Lace Trim and a Very Vanilla Jewelry Tag Punchie stamped with images from Tiny Tags in Bravo Burgundy and More Mustard tied on with Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.

Love, love, love this card! Heather outdid herself again. :)
