I love flowers. Not growing them, mind you - I have been cursed with a very black thumb, so I kill living plants rather rapidly despite my very best intentions. The only time my thumb is green is when I am stamping with a Garden Green Classic Ink Pad!But I love making flowers. With a little dusting, they last forever - my kind of flower! My girlfriend who does my nails asked if I would make her a vase full of flowers for her work station, and in exchange she would hand out my business cards. Deal! The nail salon she works in has a sort of retro red and yellow vibe, and Tammy sits next to a portrait of Marilyn Monroe. I think she would approve of this display. :)
I wanted them to be very rich, so I chose Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White cardstock. Clockwise from the Whisper White flower at the top, I used:
Medium Oval Punch petals with a 3/4" Circle Punch of Cherry Cobbler in the middle, cupped over a Stampin' Dimensional and dotted with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.
Carnation made from 1 3/4" Scallop Circles of Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White, Crimpered and held together with a Silver Brad.
Rose using the Fun Flowers Die and the Big Shot with Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.
Lilly made from Whisper White colored with Stampin' Pastels, Garden Green stamens and "flock" made using So Saffron Cardstock and the Distressing Tool on the Cutter Kit.
Daisy made with Chery Cobbler and So Saffron run through the Daisies #2 Die and the Big Shot, with a Chocolate Chip center made from the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.
Flower using Cherry Cobbler Textured Cardstock, curled around the handle of the Paper Piercer, rubbed with Cherry Cobbler Ink using a Sponge Dauber. I also frosted the middle with Whisper White Craft Ink using a sponge, and added a center of Whisper White lightly sponged with Cherry Cobbler using the Boho Blossoms Punch.
Each one is mounted on wrapped florist's wire, and the vase came from a rummage sale. They came out so beautiful!
