June 13, 2011: Super Set Sail Birthday Card

Pin It Now!
I know I've said this dozens of times (0r more!) but I love the cards my upline, Heather, designs for stamp camps, and I really think this is my all-time favorite. I wish you could see it in person - it's amazing!

We used a base card of Marina Mist, topped with Crumb Cake and Whisper White. The three strips on top are Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake and Marina Mist. The circles are Night of Navy and Whisper White. I'm not sure if Heather used Stampin' Up!'s Circle Scissor to cut these, or 3" and 3 1/2" Circle Dies still available from the Spring Occasions Mini Catalog.

Sail Away is stamped in Basic Gray first on the Whisper White circle and again on scrap. We colored in the sail fronts with Marina Mist and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers and cut them out. I love that you can snip down Dimensionals to pop up even the tiniest of embellishments!

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Pumpkin Pie and punched with the Word Window Punch, then matted on Crumb Cake punched with the Modern Label Punch. 1 1/2" wide Striped Grosgrain in Old Olive tied off with a scrap of Early Espresso Bakers Twine finishes off the trendy and dramatic card.

March 17, 2011: Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Although you can't tell by my card, can you? I had big plans for a green shamrock card, but it's in pieces on my desk. :(

But, this card is super cute, right? This was the second card we made at my upline's Stamper's 10 last Saturday. We used a scrap of Ice Cream Parlor DSP layered on top of Daffodil Delight cardstock with matching ribbon. The base is Pacific Point - such a bright, cheerful blue!

The daisies from Upsy Daisy are stamped with Pacific Point ink on Whisper White, but before we stamped them we slid Dot, Dot, Dot (available as a free SAB item!) down the front of the inked stamp to create these lines. Such a cool and pretty effect. :)

March 16, 2011: March Stamper's 10 Card #1

Isn't this amazingly adorable? I just love my upline's taste...and pink and brown is SOOO classic. I think this is a really romantic card; just sweet and a little bit shabby

Often, I need reminders of techniques that I tend to neglect, and this is one of them. For this card, we used Versamark with Vintage Vogue and "pounced" pastels onto the wet ink. I just love this!

The base card is Soft Suede, which I think is my new favorite with Pretty in Pink. Love, love, love!

March 8, 2011: Better Late than Never!

Pin It Now! A huge THANK YOU for all the lovely comments and e-mails about my "praying for you" card. Y'all make me blush. :)

Almost a month ago, I posted THIS project from my upline's February Stamper's 10 Club...now I'm finally posting the card we made to go with it!

I'm in love with this look...I'm going to use a similar design with the same stamp set, Bliss, as a last hurrah for my March Thank You Notes. Bliss is only available as a FREE Sale-a-Bration item for another few short weeks, then it will be gone FOREVER! It's one of my favorite sets, so don't expect to see this one in a retirement sale from me. It's a keeper!

Isn't the flower fun? We used two scallop circle punchies, broke down the fibers with the paper corrugator, and separated the layers to make four scallop punchies. Then we layered them together with a brad and crumpled them up to make this adorable flower. I love that this can be made in any size, like the tiny dime-sized one for my Valentines a few weeks ago.

Too cute...and Marina Mist and Crumb Cake are like peanut butter and jelly, aren't they?

Soooo, on another note, I've been commissioned to make another wedding album...I've made a number of wedding albums over the years, but this is my first big all SU one! I'm super excited, but I'm debating between Woodland Walk and Elegant Soiree. What do you think??? Both non-traditional, I know, but either could be amazingly cool. Tell me in the comments!

February 13, 2011: Adorable Card Box

Pin It Now!
This adorable card box was designed by my upline for one of her stamp camps. It holds 3x3 cards and has accordion sides.

I really liked the way the ribbon loops through; under the front flap, down the back each side and through to the front to tie in a bow. It's really cute in the neutrals here, and I think it would be so cute in bright colors and pastels, too.

I'm running through the last of my dark photos - I'll unveil the new, bright ones soon! I think I have the lights and the improved tent figured out, but I am still working on a background. I LOVE this pale pink matlasse one...but it's actually a pillow sham from my bed and doesn't fit the tent. :)

October 26, 2010: Holloween Already??

Pin It Now!
Finally, the Halloween card I promised you. :) We made this at my last stamp camp; and I cannot tell you how impressed I am with Heather Westlake's design...and the fact that I made it!

The cover image was originally a piece of white cardstock, but you would never know it would you? We built the layers one by one; embossed roller stamp first, then the masked moon with the purple top fading to orange. Then we added the green and purple at the bottom. I love how dark the top turned out - you can just see the raven, just as it would be with a Halloween orange sunset. Then we added the reflection with the Stampamajig and stamped the wording from the Charming stamp set over the moon, which was sponged in light yellow with a slight purple shadow.

I think the bat punchies really finished it off amazingly well. Just an all around dazzling card!
