June 10, 2010: "MOM" Pop-Up Card

Pin It Now! This is a fun card I did for Mother's Day last year. I decorated the front with a metal pin threaded through a Sizzix diecut, a large label cut from my Slice and a punched fleur de lis. (Mom loves FDLs!)

I wanted the middle to be a real wow, so I cut 4" letters with my Slice and made an accordion of pop-ups to set the letters up and out. I was pleased with the end result.

Although I often think it, I really do need to dust off the Slice more often. I'm always impressed with the look that I can achieve and I really do have several cards. :) I am very much a Cuttlebugger and I love manual die cutting, but there is definitely a size versatility factor with the electronic cutters.

People often ask me about my Slice, and if I would recommend it. Due to the size limitation (only up to 4") I don't think I would recommend it as someone's only diecutter. However, as a compliment to my Cuttlebug it is perfect for me and I love it!

May 12, 2010: Mother's Day Vintage Lady Card

Pin It Now! I think this may be one of my favorite cards to date. I chose a vintage-inspired digital image, and my new favorite layout. A few flowers, a tiny bow and some horse stamping finished this card for a horse-loving mom.

May 11, 2010: Purple Mother's Day Rose

Pin It Now! This is a clean and simple (CAS) Mother's Day card. I really wanted to showcase the embossed inked rose, so I set it off with just a simple stamped sentiment and a punched butterfly with a few tiny rhinestones. Amazingly beautiful in person!

On a personal note, hubby and I have been frantically packing...we found a house, and they are willing to take a contingency. But they want us to sell our house in TWO WEEKS!!! EEEEKKKKK!!!

This sweet mother's day card was CASEd from one I think I saw on Split Coast Stampers - if anyone knows the one I mean, please let me know so the original designed can get the credit!

I liked the layout so much I actually CASEd it twice - I'll post that card later.

The image is a digital one I bought on Etsy, and the stamp is Studio G. The flowers are Stampin Up's Five Petal Punch and an older Sakura punch I got one Ebay a while back.

I was just asked to make a Mother's Day card with a dog on it...so I think this fit the bill pretty well (and the customer was thrilled!).

April 27. 2010: Cottage Mother's Day Card

Pin It Now! This is a Mother's Day card I made on commission - I was only told to include a house. So I chose my favorite Stampendous stamp - it's actually a church not a cottage. Shhhh...don't tell! :)

I just thought it came out so cute with the pink and silver.
