April 27, 2013: Thoughts on Blogging

Pin It Now! I'm sure this will come as no surprise considering my sporadic posting, but I've decided to take a formal hiatus from my blog.  Instead, I will be attempting to fully embrace social media.  Blogger seems to be having a lot of issues lately, and it's simply faster to facebook from my phone all my fun projects as opposed to the time it takes to upload to blogger.

I know some of you aren't on facebook and I do apologize.  I just feel it will be better to post more often in a different, faster format that be constantly stressing that I haven't posted anything here.  I would love to have you follow me there! www.facebook.com/elinselegantdesigns, or the badge on my sidebar.

I also have a QR code:

Thank you so much for your continued support in this transition!

April 6, 2013: Stampin' Up! News!

Pin It Now! Another roundup of news from Stampin' Up!  :)

image description

FREE SHIPPING!!!  Can you beat that???

And, of course, this will be a huge help because Stampin' Up! has announced the new color renovation early, so you will want to stock up on your favorites while you can!

You may notice that there is ONE NEW COLOR in the Neutrals - Smoky Slate.  So exciting!  Also some colors have moved from one family to another.  If you need any help with these changes and how they will effect your organizational systems, please contact me! :)

Don't forget - Our five 2011-2013 In Colors (Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder) will be replaced with FIVE NEW In-colors, which have not yet been announced.  However, we are not losing all five colors!  Only Lucky Limeade will be retiring in June, but I have found Old Olive to be a very nice substitute.

Of course, it's always hard to lose old colors (I am planning a small memorial for Baja Breeze...) but think of the possibilities!  New Designer Series Paper patterns, new embellies, new everything....

Stampin' Up! has a fun new video for This & That:

Finally, April's new Best of 25 Years Stamp Set:

Best Of Butterflies Clear-mount Stamp Set
Best of Butterflies

Love it!!!  And only $14.95...order this weekend and get free shipping!!!

I think that's it - I'm off to place my own order for the free shipping.  Even I can't resist that!

March 20, 2013: ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT!!!

Pin It Now!
DO NOT be this poor lady!

You have just two days (until March 22nd) to earn a free item for every $50 you spend, before tax and shipping.

And, Sale-a-Bration wouldn't be complete without a recruiting promotion!  For Stampin' Up!'s 25 year anniversary, you will receive an extra 25% of product...for free!  That makes an already amazing deal an even better one!  That's $159 in product, plus the business starter kit, for only $99...and free shipping!  There is never an obligation to stay a demo, so you really can just sign up for the great value on the starter kit!

Stampin' Up! has a TON of specials and promotions going on, and I know my posting has been sporadic at best.  But, I'll try to catch you up. :)

Of course, we are still offering the HUGELY popular Dude, You're Welcome kit!

Guys love that one. :)

Also wildly popular is the Sent with Love set, which is available ONLY until April 30th, so you want to make sure you get in on that one! Although you an purchase the individual items separately, the bundle is an especially good value.

Stampin' Up! is celebrating their 25 year anniversary this year, and you may recall that they are bringing out a new Best Of... stamp set each month.  These sets will feature one new image along with past favorites.  Each one is $14.95, in clear mount, and will be available for the remainder of this year.  But here is the kicker - for every 6 Best Of... sets you buy, you can send in your Collector's Card and get a FREE stamp set of your choice up to $14.95!!!!  Can you believe it!?!?  I'm already collecting stickers. :)  AND, as if it could get any better, the deadline to choose your free stamp sets is April 30, 2014.  You know what that means?  Let's say, for some shocking reason (I can't really imagine it, but let's just say), you don't find any $14.95 sets you want in the big catty that comes out in a few months.  You could choose sets from the Holiday Mini this fall, OR the spring mini next spring!!!  Wowzers!  Oh...you want to see the first three sets?  OK. :)

(And might I point out that the stamp in the bottom middle is from one of THE most popular sentiment sets Stampin' Up! has ever offered?  A true must have!

I cannot WAIT to see what the remaining NINE sets are going to be.  I love something to look forward to each month. :)

But, something else to look forward to each month is my little red creativity carriage My Paper Pumpkin!  Seriously, I'm in love.  It's too late to sign up for the first kit, but if you sign up you do still get the Welcome Kit!  Mine just arrived yesterday.  Fabby!

So cute.  And I'm seriously in love with Ink Spots...and you get a new one each month.  Also, your welcome kit includes a very nice clear block to use each month.  Remember, you can sign up at any time and cancel at any time.  Cost (including shipping!) is just $19.99, and you make some fabulous projects - everything is included except adhesives.  And you get the keep the clear stamps, block and ink spot to use again and again!

If signing up for a subscription is too much for you, I got you covered there, too.  For $16.95 (plus shipping and tax) you can give it a try, no subscription required!

This cute little "try me" kit features everything you need to make two adorable journals...including the clear block!  You will be hooked for sure. :)

And what spring would be complete without a Spring Surprise?

Not only can you buy a new sneaky peek stamp set, but you can get it for a great price as a bundle with the 7/8" scallop punch!  Gotta love bundle pricing. :)

Not done yet!  Stick with me! :)

Stampin' Up! is trying out a new product - truly clear, flexible, photopolymer stamps!

Stampin' Up! says:

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.
What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.
They are clearly a great choice.
Item Description Price
132956 Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamp Set
Recommend clear blocks A, B, G, F, and I. Purchase separately.
Includes 57 pieces. (Don't faint! This is a good overwhelming feeling.)
$13.95
The Fine Print
  • Photopolymer stamps will be offered on a trial basis. Based on popularity, we hope to release more photopolymer stamp sets over the coming months. At this time we don't plan on offering a line of photopolymer sets as expansive as our wood-mount and clear-mount lines.
  • Not available in wood-mount or clear-mount.
  • All photopolymer will be packaged in cello bag w/insert, but don't forget you can store them in our clear cases.
Fabby, right?

Stampin' Up! has also decided to try out a sample class called The Basics.  What a great learning opportunity!

And, of course, don't forget about the great products still available on the Clearance Rack!

We also still have the great Single Stamps!

So...that's it!  Make sure you get those Sale-a-Bration orders in before it's too late!

February 23, 2013: More Shop Cards

Pin It Now!

More cards I made for my mother's floral shop. :)  The background stamp and sentiment are retired, and I used Need for Speed for the focal image.  One of my favorite bloggers, Deb Currier, did some great cards with this combo last year, so mine are CASEd loosely from hers. :)
