Can you believe it is February already??
This is probably one of the most comical pages I have done. (And one my husband Jeff probably wouldn't be terribly keen on my posting...). When Jeff's Grandad came to North Idaho (from his home in Montana) and entered assisted living, he was a bit depressed with all the changes. We tried to visit him nearly daily for entertainment value, if nothing else. On this occasion, Jeff and JD (Jeff's mother's husband) were trying to show Grandad the pose from the new Captain Morgan Spiced Rum commercials "He has a little Captain in him!" Grandad just kept smiling - I don't think he had the slightest idea what was going on. He just enjoyed the show. :)
The cat on the chair is Patriot; he was a stray that attached himself to the LifeCare facility and made it his business to visit Grandad on a regular basis. He always sat that way, with his paws up on the arm or the chair. Grandad was a real cat person and looked forward to Patriot's visits.
At the time, the movie Pirates of the Caribbean was just coming out, and suddenly there were some adorable pirate themed scrapbook supplies available. The glittery base sheet for this page was a shocking $2.99 (!!!!), but it added so much to the layout that all it really needed was a few extra chipboard stickers.
