September 17, 2011: Flirtatious by Jan

Pin It Now!
Isn't this pretty? One of my fellow demos, Jan, made this card for a demo-only swap I was in. It's amazingly pretty in person, and I'm thrilled to have a sample of the Flirtatious Suite.

Jan took Rose Red Cardstock to make her base card, and she added a triangle of Whisper White Cardstock to the bottom corner. This triangle is heavily Sponged on the edges with Rose Red Classic Ink, and stamped with Delicate Doilies in Pretty in Pink, Wisteria Wonder and Rose Red.

For the focal image she took a sheet of the laser cut Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper and cut out all the individual doilies. Each doily was cut on the diagonal and mounted on top of the card, with the Whisper White back side on the Rose Red, and the Rose Red front side on the stamped triangle. What a clever use of this Specialty DSP!

To add interest, Jan took the whole card and ran it through the Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from Thank You Kindly, stamped in Rose Red Classic Ink on Whisper White and punched out with the Modern Label Punch. She mounted the sentiment on Stampin' Dimensionals and added Basic Rhinestones to both the sentiment and the center of the laser cut doily.

There were some amazing cards in this swap, and this one really stood out! Thanks, Jan. :)

Several people have asked me lately about the difference between Specialty Designer Series Paper and regular Designer Series Paper. It's really simple - the regular DSP is always 12 sheets, double sided, with six sheets of each pattern. The Specialty DSP is different. Stampin' Up! is currently offering four different Specialty DSPs. The first three are in the Big Catalog and available until next year; the last one is in the Holiday Mini Catalog and available only until the end of the year:

First Edition is actually 24 double sided sheets, 6 patterns with four of each. It's also lighter weight paper.

Flirtatious is 10 double sided sheets, 5 patterns with two each, plus 2 laser cut sheets of doilies.

Mocha Morning is 2 sheets of each of two single sided FLOCKED paper (love it!), and 2 sheets of each of four double sided paper designs, some of which have METALLIC ink. So pretty and elegant!

Holly Berry Bouquet is the new Christmas Paper (and don't forget - this one is in my Holly Berry Share!). It has 2 each of two double sided designs with red glitter, and 2 each of 4 double sided designs without glitter.

I hope you try out some of the Specialty DSPs today - they are so much fun to work with!
