July 9, 2010: Aquarium Card

Pin It Now!
Hmmmm...I'd planned on taking a day off from posting yesterday for my anniversary. The first day without a post since I started this blog! But it looks, judging by the paw prints all over my keyboard, that someone had other ideas. Hope you enjoyed the...um...deviation from the norm!

And yes, I DID have a lovely 8th anniversary. Thanks for all the kind wishes. :)

This is actually a embellishment I made from scratch for a swap a while back, and I mounted it on a card. LOVE how it looks like a porthole! I used torn sandpaper for the sand, and various stickers for the seaweed and castle. The fish are punchies and die cuts. The sand dollar is cuttlebug (probably one of their most realistic dies, actually - the sand dollar looks real). There is a teeny tiny real shell glued to the sandpaper, too.

  1. Thanks so much, Elin, for the name of the SU set I'd used, as I borrowed it from a friend & there was no label on her set!
LOVE this aquarium card and how you used torn sandpaper for sand -- fabulous idea!!!
