Pin It Now!
I'm so proud of myself - 365 posts in 365 days and my one year blogging anniversary! Tomorrow I'm going to post a list of what I think are the highlights of this year, but for now I needed to get this card posted. I'm entering it in Pals Paper Arts 72 - a white Christmas.
I love white for Christmas; sometimes it's a nice reprieve from all the red and green. It's serene and calming yet warm and cozy, too.
I can remember years ago a saleswoman at a high-end furniture store selling my Mom on a white sitting room set. I thought she was crazy - white sofas in a working ranch house?? How long would that last? The saleswoman swore once we went white we would never go back; it was soothing. Mom bought the white, and we all loved the look. She still has it, by the way; remarkably durable. And white never goes out of style.
Anyway, I was inspired by the proportions of the inspiration picture collage and chose to use the same for my card. I added a touch of glittery light blue and a bit of Going Gray (retired) to get the contrast even a white card needs. I love the sparkle of the rhinestones, too.
I am sending this card to an elderly friend for Christmas. I like making her cards with some sparkle as it is one of the few things that still catch her failing eyesight. She will love this one, I know. I really work hard on her cards, since I know that I won't be able to make too many more for her.
Thanks for sticking with me this past year - here is to more years of fun and inspiration!!
