Pin It Now!
Short break from the snowglobe parade to bring you my (late) take on the Mojo Monday #172 sketch.
I used the palest of SU's Subtles colors...which also happen to be my favorites. :) Unfortunately, that's why this photographs poorly, and I couldn't find anything for a white background. I keep saying I'm going to get a light box, but I never seem to remember.
I used Whisper White and Pink Pirouette cardstock and DSP. I wanted SOME contrast, so I added the strip of Perfect Plum. I did splurge on a bit of Pale Plum (retired) ink and cardstock, and I stamped the leaves of the hydrangea in Mellow Moss (also retired). I really need to order Certainly Celery ink, but I keep forgetting that, too. :) I stamped the hydrangea four times; twice for the front of the card, once for the inside and once on the envelope. The second image on the front is cut out and popped up on dimensionals.
Stamp sets are the Level 1 Hostess set Because I Care and Word Play. The small circle in the middle is the 2 1/2" punch, and the larger circle is cut with the Circle Scissor. The only non-SU is the brads; I had a few left from a wedding kit a while back. :)
I really like this card, although I think in hindsight I would probably choose either a different background color DSP or a different cardstock than the DSP. It's really pretty in person, but would probably be better with more contrast. Still, I think our receptionist will love it for her birthday; she is turning the big five oh. (Although I swear she looks 10+ years less than that, lucky girl. We think she is a liar, but who ADDS years!?!?!).
