February 5, 2011: My Shoebox Swap Card

Pin It Now!
Last Sunday, I attended a meeting at my upline's house held for her downline (I'm not quite sure if that makes it a Downline meeting or an Upline meeting...but see how good I am doign with all these new terms!?!). Anyway, each of us brought the supplies so we could make a card together.

I'm really proud of the card I designed because it is both pretty and NOT CASEd! Although I did draw inspiration from a card made by Shelli Gardner for leadership (I saw a photo online), the design is mine. :)

I used the new Framed Tulips Embossing Folder on Crumb Cake (SU's Kraft Paper), and Rose Red Cardstock with the Scallop Trim Punch for the strip, which is topped with my favorite pattern in Springtime Vintage. Love it! The arrow end is notched out with the 1 3/8 square punch, which makes it really easy.

I used my FREE Bliss stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration catalog to stamp the butterfly and the sentiment, then punched it out with the Designer Label Punch. Green wasn't listed on the Springtime Vintage paper, but I consulted my swatches and decided the green leaves were Wild Wasabi, so I matted my Designer Label Punch in that, just on the top and bottom. It's a nice little detail that is super easy to do; just take a second punchie of the same shape, cut it in half, and mat it on the bottom of the stamped punchie. Wahlah! Instant matting...and so cute.

That't it; this card checks all the boxes for me. Cute? Check! Simple? Check! Good for different levels of stampers? Check, Check, Check!

I'd better run...there is a scary monster running around the house, it's my Weekend To Do List....
